Tom Sine, head of research and hospitality, Mustard Seed Associates (MSA), and Dr. Christine Sine, executive director of MSA, will present "Finding God's Best for Your Life...Creating New Possibilities," as part of Bluffton University's weekly Forum series, 11 a.m., Jan. 26 in Founders Hall. Forum is free and open to the public.

Economics prof Colloquium speaker Jan. 29

Jonathan Andreas, assistant professor of economics, will present "The Cardinalist Manifesto: How measurement theory shaped the ethics of economics," 4 p.m., Friday, Jan. 29, in Stutzman Lecture Hall in Centennial Hall as part of Bluffton University's Friday Colloquium Series. The event is free and open to the public.

University to host conference on immigration

The Bluffton University Pathways to Mission and Vocation project will host a conference on immigration, Beyond Borders: The Role of Immigration in a Global Community, March 19-21, on the Bluffton campus.

The keynote speaker will be Daniel Carroll Rodas, author of Christians at the Border: Immigration, the Church, and the Bible. Baldemar Velasquez, president of the Farm Labor Organizing Committee, will also present a plenary session.

SCHOOL CANCELLATIONS AS TEXT MESSAGES

Board moves ahead with levy renewal, requests delay of all-day kindergarten

Bluffton's school board reorganized for 2010 on Jan. 11. In so doing, the board set in motion the placement of the a three-year permanent improvement levy renewal to go on the May 4 ballot.

In other significant action, the board requested that the Ohio Department of Education delay implanting an all-day everyday kindergarten for the 2010-2011 school year.
