Winning ticket numbers for September 27 Discovery Day

Winning ticket numbers from the August 27, 2022 Discovery Day have been annouced by the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce:

1st prize 607373

2nd prize 607339

3rd prize 607388

To claim your Bluffton Bucks prize, you must present the winning ticket to the staff at the Bluffton Public Library, 145 S. Main St.

Prizes must be claimed by the next Discovery Day, September 24.

Director Jim Enneking reports that 937 tickets were distributed by participating businesses.

August 31 is Opioid Awareness Day

The State of Ohio marks August 31 as Ohio Overdose Awareness Day, "an opportunity to remember loved ones lost to an overdose, recognize those who have a substance use disorder and are working toward recovery." It's also a good time to become more familiar with the resources available for those in crisis.

Pirate girls blow out Bearcats soccer

The visiting Bluffton High School girls soccer team dominated Spencerville 6-0 in the Northwest Conference opener Tuesday evening, August 30.

Allison Diller and Sami Scoles each scored two goals to pace the Pirate offense. Diller also passed out two assists.

The lopsided win lifted the Pirate record to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in NWC play. The Bearcat girls fell to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in the NWC with the defeat.

Jasi Crawfis scored the game's first goal in the 18th minute on a pass from Blair Utendorf.

The familiar sight of American flags in on Main Street in downtown Bluffton isn't something residents of Bluffton should take for granted. The display is the work of volunteers and is made possible by donations from dozens of individuals, families, businesses and organizations.

Pirate VB falls to Indians

The Bluffton High School volleyball team lost a three-set, non-league match to visiting Shawnee Tuesday evening, August 30.

The Lady Pirates fell to 3-2 with the 25-18, 25-12, 25-12 defeat, their second in as many nights to a WBL foe. Shawnee improved to 3-1 after the win.

Sophomore Ayla Grandey led Bluffton with five kills and three blocks. 

Kendall Stackhouse contributed four kills.

Gracie Yarnell passed out six assists and came up with 10 digs.
