'Summer Mud' available at Bluffton University

Adults, along with college and high school students, who are interested in exploring the medium of ceramics may do so in "Summer Mud," a class being offered in June at Bluffton University.

Gregg Luginbuhl, professor and chair of art at Bluffton, will teach the class, which will meet from 6:30-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday for three weeks beginning Monday, June 6. The class will meet in the Sauder Visual Arts Center's ceramics studio, where students will also be able to work during daytime and weekend hours.

"Angle of Repose" book discussion March 28 at Maple Crest

A discussion of Wallace Stegner's book "Angle of Repose" will take place in the family room of Maple Crest Senior Living Village on Monday, March 28, at 2:30 p.m. Maple Crest Senior Living Village is located at 700 Maple Crest Ct., Bluffton.

Copies of the book are available at Bluffton Public Library, 145 S. Main St., Bluffton.

Here's a chance to help Bluffton University graduate David Dellifield

Bluffton University graduate David Dellifield of Ada (a 39 year-old, non-smoker) was diagnosed with Stage 4, well-differentiated squamous-cell carcinoma (throat cancer) on Feb. 2, after going to the doctor for a swollen lymph node and earache.

Dellifield had already begun training for the Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati. He had already put 125 miles in since 1-1-11. This race will be his 5th FULL Marathon (26.2 miles) since the Flying Pig in May 2009.

Rhythm In Motion Dance Centre' brings home 9 awards from competition

Rhythm In Motion Dance Centre' participated in their first dance competition of the 2011 dance season on March 5 at Encore Talent Productions, Columbus. The group of 14 dancers brought home nine awards, including three Overall Awards and one Judge's Choice Award.

Boogie Fever, directed by Darcey Schneider, danced by RIMDC Petite Team of ages 5-7 received a High Gold, 5th place overall. Performer Evelynn Schneider from the Petite Team received a special Judges' Award, Most Photogenic of the 2011 Columbus Competition.
