Worship leaders chosen for December services at MMH

Church services for December have been announced for residents of Mennonite Memorial Home.

Sunday, Dec. 5 - Jeff Boehr

Sunday, Dec. 26 - Bill Herr

Sunday services are at 9:30 a.m. in the chapel.

Thursday, Dec. 9 - Kevin Mohr
Tuesday, Dec. 14 - Gary Rummel
Tuesday, Dec. 21 - Peg Murphy
Friday, Dec. 24 - Bill Herr, (10 a.m.)
Tuesday, Dec. 28 - Jack Duffy

Weekday services are at 6:30 p.m. in the chapel.

Dec. 6-7-8 - Resident family Christmas potluck

Dec. 11 - Piano recital by students of Deb Niswander, 10 a.m.
Dec. 14 - Cory-Rawson show choir, 10 a.m.

Dec. 15 - St. John's UCC Christmas cantata
Dec. 16 - December birthday party

Dec. 20 - Cory-Rawson second grader entertains residents
Dec. 20 - Piano recital by students of Krysti Shey, 6:30 p.m.

Public library feature of 2010 Velasquez holiday painting

Oscar Velasquez shows his 2010 holiday painting in front of the public library, just at the spot where he depicts this year's scene. Velasquez unveiled his ninth Bluffton holiday painting at the Blaze of Lights. This year's scene is in honor of the library's 75th anniversary.

The original work is watercolor and acrylic. Art collectors have three print choices of the scene. Each print is signed.

Richard L. Bloom 1945-2010

Richard L. Bloom

Richard L. Bloom, 65, of Bluffton died Dec. 1, 2010, at his residence following a sudden illness. He was born Aug. 13, 1945, in Lima to Richard F. and Betty Ballinger Bloom. On April 27, 1963 he married Judith Minnig and she survives.

Mr. Bloom retired from Tower Automotive, Bluffton. He was a member of the Bluffton Presbyterian Church where he has served as a deacon. He was a graduate of Bath High School.
