Post-prom planning meeting Nov. 29

All BHS Junior Class parents are invited to a Post-Prom planning meeting on Monday, Nov. 29, at 6:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Parents who would like to be involved but are unable to attend this meeting are asked to contact Susan Liska.

Christmas for kids Dec. 4

Christmas For Kids will be held at Trinity Lutheran School, 105 Allen Street, Jenera, on Saturday, Dec. 4 from 1-4:30 p.m. The program will provide children in Pre-school through 4th grade a special opportunity to hear the real message of Christmas, along with Christmas crafts, music, refreshments and fun. Hazel I. Knepper 1916-2010

Hazel I. Knepper, 94, of Pandora died Nov. 25, 2010, at the Orange City Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, Debary, Fla. She was born in Pandora on Oct. 10, 1916 to Roy and Carrie Beard Tousley. On Feb. 15, 1938 she married Paul Knepper who preceded her in death on Sept/ 17, 2002. Mrs. Knepper was a homemaker and had worked at the Russell Company, Pandora. She was a member of the Pandora Church of Christ. She enjoyed baking and helping at the church.

Bluffton dominates first half in 71-60 win at Hiram

The Bluffton University men's basketball team used a dominating performance in the first half to upend Hiram College on Wednesday, November 24, 2010. The Beavers' 3-0 start marks the first time Bluffton has opened a season with three straight wins since 1997-98. The Terriers slipped to 2-2 on the season.

Pandora council looking at $12,147 flow meter

Pandora council is considering purchase of a flow meter, estimated to cost $12,147 (plus $139 alignment fee), which is required by the Ohio EPA. The requirement is so that the village will be on a controlled discharge system. The matter was discussed at the Nov. 9 council meeting.

The flow meter will be installed in an existing manhole at the effluent site of the village lagoon system.

In other action, council approved the hiring of David Meyer as an as-needed assistant to Marvin Steiner with hydrant flushing.
