Cline named All-HCAC for women's golf

The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) has announced it women's golf All-Conference team. The team features Beaver sophomore Kiley Cline (Fostoria/St. Wendelin). She becomes the first Bluffton women's golfer in school history to earn all-conference honors.

Pirate baseball blanked by AE, Kennedy

Playing at home, the Bluffton High School baseball team was shut out 5-0 by Allen East in a Northwest Conference game Thursday evening, May 4.

The game was scoreless through five innings, but AE broke it open with two runs in the top of the sixth. The Mustangs then plated three more scores in the seventh to put the game out of reach.

Pirate softball run-rules Grove

The visiting Bluffton softball team dominated Columbus Grove 20-2 in a Northwest Conference makeup game Wednesday evening.

The Pirate girls improved to 9-9 overall and 4-3 in the NWC with the victory. The Bulldogs fell to 9-8 and 1-5 in NWC play with the loss.

Bluffton's Poinsettia Club celebrates 103rd year

Founded in the fall of 1920, the Poinsettia Club is the second oldest continuously meeting women’s group in Bluffton. its motto is a quote from Madeline Briggs–“Give to the world the best you have and the best will come back to you.”

The club meets on the third Tuesday of each month–April through November–to share lunch, some laughs, a few brain teaser quizzes and at times a presentation by a local organization.

Pirate baseball victory over Commodores

The Bluffton High School baseball team beat visiting Perry 4-1 in a non-conference game Wednesday evening, May 3.

The Pirates improved to 9-8 overall with the victory. The Commodores fell to 3-11 after the defeat.

T-Ball registration is now open at www.bfronline.com.

  • The program is for girls 4-7 years and boys 4-6 years
  • July 11-August 10
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Village Park

The deadline to register is June 25.
