BHS girls basketball loss at Columbus Grove

Pirates seeded 6th at sectionals

The Bluffton High School girls basketball team lost 50-34 at rival Columbus Grove in a Northwest Conference bout Thursday evening.

Bluffton dropped to 12-8 overall and 1-6 in the NWC with the defeat. The Grove girls improved to 13-7 overall and 4-3 in the NWC following the victory.

Three Johnny Appleseed events in February

Nature Journaling

On Tues., Feb. 16 at 6:30 p.m., the Johnny Appleseed Metro Park District will offer Intro To Nature Journaling at the McElroy Environmental Education Center (2355 Ada Rd. Lima, OH). 

Nature journaling is a great way to be present in nature, appreciate and record it. Consisting of sketches, paintings, notes, and descriptions, nature journaling offers an opportunity to try to capture a moment and recall observations that otherwise would be forgotten. This session will offer a brief introduction and some tools to get you started. Women's Basketball

The Bluffton University women's basketball team fell short against the Mount St. Joseph Lions, 62-58, on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023. The Beavers fell to 12-8 overall and 7-7 in the conference. The Lions improved their overall record to 12-8 with a 9-4 mark in the HCAC.

Bluffton University nursing program granted five-year CCNE accreditation

Bluffton University’s nursing program has been granted the full five-year accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), the nation’s leading accrediting agency for nursing programs at the bachelor’s, master’s and residency levels.

The accreditation status follows a successful virtual site accreditation visit with an evaluation team composed of three CCNE-appointed nursing education leaders.

Jazzercize fundraiser: "Sweating for Baby Ellie"

At 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, Jazzercize at Bluffton Family Recreation is hosting a "give back" opportunity and free exercise class for baby Ellie, the daughter of Sarah and Christian Koch and granddaugher of Dave and Julie Stratton, who was born prematurely and is hospitalized.
