History of Radio and Watercolor Painting CLEO courses announced

First Mennonite Church of Bluffton has announced two courses to be part of its CLEO (Continued Learning Elder Organization) program for spring 2024. You are invtied to "Come to Learn, Stay for Community." Courses are free; materials fees may apply.

The History of Radio, moderated by Tim Schumacher. Radio was the first instant mass communication invention. The course will explore:

Renee Matthews, RN, named as new Bluffton Hospital Administrator

Renee Matthews, RN, has been named the new administrator of Bluffton Hospital, 139 Garau St., a division of Blanchard Valley Health System.

Spring Storytime registration for February-April 2024

The Bluffton Public Library, 145 S. Main, has announced registration for the Spring Storytime program, which runs through February, March and April.

Babies (Birth-2) will have storytime at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesdays.

Preschool (ages 3-5) will have storytime at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays.

Family storytime (Birth-5) will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Thursdays.

Village of Pandora and local businessmen create plan to keep Hilty Preschool & Childcare Center open

The board of Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) and the Village of Pandora made a joint announcement on January 23 that plans have been developed to continue operation of the Hilty Preschool and Childcare, 304 Hilty Dr, Pandora. Purchasers have been found for the preschool and the Village of Pandora is applying to purchase the facility.

PHOTO Not nice weather for ducks

On recent days when the Bluffton temperature was in single digits, Buckeye Park seemed deserted. But where there was open water and sunshine, north of the Spring St. bridge, the Icon found several dozen Mallard ducks. Not nice weather for ducks.
