December 11 Administration report to council

At the December 11 meeting of the Bluffton Council, the Village administration presented the following report including "done" and "to-do" lists:

2023
1. Geiger St. Water Main Replacement: Another quality project completed under budget: 15.9% under the contract price that was already 15% below the engineer's estimate.

2. Garau St. Water Main Replacement: Work has been completed. 

2024
1. Pocono Drive Utility Improvements: OPWC has approved a $240,000 loan at 0% interest over a 30-year term for the project to teplace water and sewer main lines along Pocono Drive estimated at $352,260.

ODNR asks for furbearer sighting reports

COLUMBUS__The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife is seeking reports of gray foxes, river otters, black bears, and other furbearers. Reports can be submitted to the Wildlife Reporting System at www.wildohio.gov and on the HuntFish OH mobile app. Wildlife biologists use public reports to monitor populations of these secretive species.

Wright State University and Bluffton University have created a transfer partnership for students interested in studying engineering.

JAMPD board of commissioners meet December 19

The Board of Commissioners of the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District will  hold their monthly Board meeting, at 10:00 a.m. on Tues., Dec. 19, 2023 at at the Park  Conference Room.

The district's 20 parks and facilities include the Motter Metro Park in Bluffton. The Park District Office is located at 1682 Slabtown Rd., Lima, OH  45801.

Mary Ruth Wagner was a homemaker

Mary Ruth Wagner, 91, of Ada, passed away December 18, 2023 at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.  Mary was born March 24, 1932 in Delphos to the late Forest and Martha (Kunz) Gudakunst.  On May 18, 1952 she married Carl Wagner who survives.
