Pirate volleyball seeded 5th

The Bluffton High School volleyball team was seeded fifth in the tough Div. III, 12-team Kalida district drawing Sunday, October 8.

The Pirates (16-4) host six seed Ottawa-Glandorf (9-12) Monday, October 16 at 6 p.m. in the first round.

The winner advances to visit fourth seed Parkway (11-9) Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 7:15 p.m.

Pirate boys seeded 6th

The Bluffton High School boys soccer team was voted a six seed in their Div. III 12-team sectional drawing Sunday.

Bluffton (5-9-2) will host eighth seed Old Fort Oct. 18 at 5 p.m. The winner visits third-seeded Van Buren (10-6) Saturday, Oct. 21 at noon.

The district semis/finals will be hosted by Tiffin Columbian at Frost-Kalnow Stadium Oct.25/28.

Meet the September 2023 Bluffton Middle School Pirates of the Month, L-R) Hephaestion Weyer, Teaghen Cupples, Emma Clevidence, Easton Dunifon, Colton McGuire and Elana Navarro.These students were chosen for their exemplary demonstration of the Pirate Pact which includes Pride, Initiative, Readiness, Attitude, Tolerance, Excellence and Strength.

ArtSpace/Lima is exhibiting the varied works from the estate of William and Mary Ann Sullivan. ‘Scenes from the Sullivans’ will be on display at ArtSpace through November 4, 2023.  William (Bill) and Mary Ann Sullivan were pillars in Lima’s art community for decades.

Pirate boys soccer shut out by Shawnee

The Bluffton High School boys soccer team lost to visiting power Shawnee 3-0 Saturday night, October 7, at Steinmetz Field in a non-league match.

Bluffton dropped to 5-9-2 overall after the loss,
