Two communities meals are planned by the Bluffton Area Ministerial Association in April. Both meals are at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center, 132 N. Main St., and are open to the public.

The meals are Thursday, April 7, and Thursday, April 21. Meals begin at 6 p.m. Any donations received assist the work of the Bluffton Food Pantry.

Sponsoring the April 7 dinner is the SHANNON Service Club. Sponsoring the April 21 dinner is Emmanuel United Church of Christ.

A Cook'n for the Cure Easter bake sale and lunch is set for Saturday, April 16, in the fellowship hall of Bluffton First United Methodist Church, 116 Church St.

Organized by Bonnie Dudgeon, her daughter Becky and their Relay for Life team, proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

The bake sale will be held from 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., the lunch will be held from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. The lunch menu consists of soups, sandwiches, relishes, dessert and beverages. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under. All are welcome to attend.

The Camerata Singers of Bluffton University will participate in the 10:30 a.m. worship service at Grace Mennonite Church, Pandora, on April 10.

The select 24-member choral group recently returned from their spring-break tour in Arizona, Indiana, Illinois and Iowa. Its members represent a variety of academic disciplines across campus. The conductor, Dr. Mark J. Suderman, is professor of music and director of choral activities at Bluffton.

John McMinn has accepted the call as pastor of Bluffton Baptist Church this winter, according to Dave Miller, chairman of the church deacons. Pastor McMinn replaces Steve Renfrow who pastored the church from its conception.

The Senior High Youth of First Mennonite Church will hold a noon fundraiser following worship service on Sunday, April 3. The menu includes haystacks and a dessert buffet.

Funds raised will go toward the youth trip to the Mennonite Youth Convention in Pittsburgh, Pa., this summer, and to the youths' tithing project.

This year the SHY are giving 15 percent of funds raised to two organizations. Those include World Vision's adopt a child and the Pittsburgh Mennonite Convention Scholarship Fund.
