Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 8374 Phillips Road, Bluffton, will hold a fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for youth 10 and under.

The menu is all-you-can-eat fish, various hot and cold salads (such as potato salad, cheesy potatoes, mac and cheese, baked beans, taco salad, and cole slaw), plus a dessert and a beverage.

Cairo United Methodist Church holds a Smorgasbord fundraising meal on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at 210 West Main Street, Cairo.

The menu is swiss steak or turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, gravy, noodles, green beans, salads and choice of desserts.

Tickets are $8 for adults, children (ages 6-12) $4 and 5 and under's are free. Carry-out meals are available.

Preschool Playtime, a free open gym for infants, toddlers and preschoolers, is offered at Trinity Lutheran School, 105 Allen St., Jenera, on the second Monday of each month from October to May.

The Pandora United Methodist Church will be hosting a free Community Meal on Wednesday, Oct. 30 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington Street, Pandora. 

This month's meal is provided by N.E.W. Never Ending Witness Group. The menu is beef sandwiches, chips, vegetable tray, cheese tray, cookies and beverages.

Bluffton First Mennonite Church invites you to participate in a workshop, “Living Thoughtfully, Dying Well”, on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Dr. Glen E. Miller, a retired physician of Goshen, IN, wrote a book with the same title and will be the keynote speaker.

Issues to be addressed include estate planning, memorial and funeral planning, advanced directives, nursing home and home health, hospice and palliative care.

St. John's United Church of Christ will hold a beef and noodle dinner, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 18, at the church, 223 W. College Ave.

The menu includes homemade noodles, beef, mashed potatoes, green beans, apple sauce, roll, assorted pies and beverage. Dine in or carryout.
