The next Community Meal sponsored by the Bluffton Area Ministerial Association is at 6 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 3, at the Senior Citizen Center.

First Mennonite Church will prepare and serve the meal, which includes beef and vegetable stew (vegetarian option also), cornbread and honey, fresh fruit and lemonade, tea/coffee.

The meal is open to the public. Donations are accepted and go to the Bluffton Community Assistance Program's food pantry.

Grace Mennonite Church, 502 E. Main St. in Pandora will be having a book sale on Friday, Dec. 4, from 6:30-8:30 and Saturday, Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. - 1p.m.

Faith and Life Books and Gifts from Berne, Ind., will bring a variety of books including children, youth, adult books, commentaries, Bibles, and cookbooks. Christmas items, Advent devotionals, CD's, and gift items will also be available.

St. Mary's Catholic Church is hosting Susie Sandager at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 7, to do a presentation called "Corrie Remembers."

Sandager does a one-person presentation of the life of Corrie ten Boom. Corrie was a member of the ten Boom family, a Christian family who hid Jews in the family watch shop during the Holocaust to save them from execution.

The family was later arrested and placed in a concentration camp. Corrie was released nearly miraculously. Admission to the program is free, but a freewill offering will be taken to support the work of Susie Sandager.

She looks very familiar

Mrs. Claus has taken unheard-of time off during her busiest season of the year. She will be offering samples of her art of cooking and baking skills at Bluffton St. John's United Church of Christ Cupboard and Cafe on Saturday, Dec. 12.

Mrs. Claus will be present in Oppermann Hall from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Food for sale will include homemade everything: candies, cookies, cakes including her special angel food, pies, noodles, pickled eggs and beets, and traditional Christmas season snack foods.

Bluffton elemetary students, teachers and staff are collecting food for a Christmast service project.

This year's project will support the Bluffton Food Pantry. The school is accepting donations from Nov. 30 to Dec. 11. Canned items, boxed items and cash donations are accepted. Please do not bring glass items.

Checks may be written to the Bluffton Food Pantry. Persons with questions may contact the elementary office.

Old Millstream Ringers

The Old Millstream Ringers, a community handbell ensemble from the Findlay area will present a Christmas concert for the Bluffton and surrounding area. The concert is at 7 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 6, at St. John's United Church of Christ, 223 W. College Ave. A freewill offering will be taken.

About the ringers
The Old Millstream Ringers is a community handbell ensemble from the Findlay area, and was formed in early summer 2000 to give an opportunity for local handbell ringers to grow, learn, and promote the art of handbell ringing.
