Dr. Cheri Larsen Hoeckley, professor of English and co-coordinator of gender studies at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, Calif., will explore “Men, Women, and the Stories We Tell About ‘Us’” in Bluffton University’s annual Women’s Studies Forum on March 31. Free and open to the public, her talk will begin at 11 a.m. in Founders Hall.

Three wind chamber ensembles will join the Bluffton University Concert Band to present a spring instrumental concert at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 29, in Yoder Recital Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

Dr. Roy Couch, assistant professor of music, conducts the Concert Band and coaches a brass quintet, while Dr. Adam Schattschneider, professor of music, directs a flute ensemble and coaches a saxophone quartet.

Brittney Ries, a junior from Freeman, S.D., and a Concert Band member, will conduct the band’s performance of “The King of Love My Shepherd Is.”

March 21, 2015 Game 1 Stats I Game 2 Stats ALMA, Mich. - The Bluffton University softball team split a pair of two-run games at Alma on Saturday, March 21, 2015. The Beavers took game one by a 3-1 count before the home Scots returned the favor, 4-2, in the nightcap. Bluffton stands 9-8, while Alma moved to 9-9 on the season. It marked the first Bluffton victory against Alma since a 1-0 road shutout in 2009 and only the third win ever over the Scots.

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University baseball team finally played their home debut and made it count, as they opened HCAC play with a 6-2 victory over Franklin College on Friday, Mar. 20. Bluffton used a stout seven-inning performance from senior hurler Nate Simonds (Ypsilanti, Mich./Lincoln) in the winning effort. The Beavers improved to 8-5 and 1-0 in conference play, while the Grizzlies fell to 5-6 and 0-1 in the conference.
