The Village of Bluffton’s personnel committee meeting scheduled for Thursday, March 19, at 4 p.m. has been canceled, according to Nancy Kindle, village fiscal officer.
Bill Gordon, director of the Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure (GOBA), met with over 30 Bluffton restaurant owners and service group leaders in the town hall on March 17. Bluffton is preparing for a one-day visit by 2,500-plus bicyclists on Sunday, June 21. Gordon's visit was an information meeting on how local organizations may benefit from the visit. Dennis Morrison is the recipient of the 2014 Bluffton Lions Club Citizen of the Year Award. The announcement was made at the March 17 Lions meeting.
He will be recognized during a 6 p.m., Tuesday, April 21, dinner meeting, catered by Henry's Restaurant, Ottawa, in the third floor of the Bluffton town hall.
Beth Bish, owner of Bluffton Pediatrics, LLC, is the first-place winner in the Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs 2015 Ropp Triplett Business Plan Competition, according to Brendon Matthews, BCE board president. This is the sixth year for the competition named in honor of former Bluffton entrepreneur, Ropp Triplett.
First place receives $4,000 in business-start up costs that may be spent over the next 18 months.
Alice Essinger, owner of Fresh Modern Fabric, Bluffton, is second place winner and recipient of $1,500 in business start-up costs.
ALBION, Mich. - Bluffton received another stellar effort from its hurlers at Albion College, but the Britons scored a run in the bottom of the eighth and made it hold up as the home team pulled out an exciting 3-2 victory on Tuesday, March 17, 2015. Bluffton dropped to 7-5 on a day when its four-game winning streak was snapped, while Albion improved to 6-2 on the season.
