So far, so good. As winter in Bluffton goes.

Maybe that's about to change. The Bluffton snow plow crew is on alert for whatever may come our way this weekend.

Village administrator, Jamie Mehaffie updated The Icon on salt usage soo far this winter  saying that the town has not needed to order any road salt.

Like to watch the sky at night? Here are five opportunities this winter and spring to participate in special nighttime programs at the Ohio Northern University Astronomy Observatory sponsored by the ONU Astronomy Club, according to Dr. Jason Pinkney, ONU Department of Physics and Astronomy, and observatory manager.

All programs are from 8 to 10 p.m., are open to the public, and are dependant upon weather conditions.

The Village of Bluffton’s personnel and finance committees will meet Monday, Feb. 2 at 7:30 p.m., according to Nancy Kindle, fiscal officer.

On Jan. 22 Bluffton University hosted a mathematics seminar unlike any you’ve ever been to.

Tyler Oberly, Manager of Analytics for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, addressed an eager audience with a speech titled “Sports Analytics: Diving into the math behind athletics.”

The seminar, which was open to all, focused on the emerging industry of sports analytics, and Oberly’s journey to his current position.
