Chad Hartson will warm up the Blaze of Lights crowd on Saturday. The ice sculpturer will create a Christmas ornament from a large block of ice. His performance begins at 4 p.m. on Main Street. The 110-plus unit parade follows at 5 p.m.
The stage is set for the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce’s Blaze of Lights. This year’s event, the 28th annual Blaze, begins Saturday, Nov. 29, in downtown Bluffton. Here is the up-to-the-minute Blaze information.

Riley Creek United Methodist Church invites the community to its 42nd annual Christmas Carol Sing at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7. Like an old-fashioned songfest around the piano, the program will feature congregational singing of many traditional carols, as well as readings from Scripture about Jesus’ birth, special performances by the Pandora United Methodist Church Choir, Ottawa Sts. Peter and Paul Choir, dulcimer players from the Ottawa Presbyterian Church, and a candle lighting ceremony.
David Greene signs his book "Midnight to Siberia" for Phil Sugden. Greene of NPR's Morning Edition, signed his book and talked about his experiences in Russia at Jeanne's Kitchen on Nov. 26. Over 90 persons attended. Greene is married to Jeanne and Peter Previte's daughter, Rose. CLICK FOR A VIDEO.
