The sale of the Ranger Building at 220 – 224 N. Main St., in downtown Lima was approved Oct. 27 by the Board of Directors of the Port Authority of Allen County, according to Marcelyn Boone, chair of the Port Authority Board. 

Sandra J. and James E. Monfort, of 1937 Wendall, Lima, are purchasing the building for $50,000.  The transaction is expected to be completed before the end of the week.

Taking a year off between high school and college isn’t unheard of. But doing it between the first and second year of college probably isn’t as common, and not for the reason that Kelsey Waidelich did.

Waidelich, now a sophomore at Bluffton University, left school last academic year for a six-month service trip to Guatemala.

The final Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce cash mob of 2014 is from 3 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Southgate Lanes bowling alley, 9700 Dixie Highway Bluffton.

"This cash mob is a bit different from our previous nine events," said Fred Steiner of the chamber. "It's cash mob year-end party."

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women’s soccer team ended the home portion of their season with a tough 1-0 loss to the Mount St. Joseph University Lions on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014. The loss dropped Bluffton to 4-12-1 overall and 1-5-1 in HCAC play, while the Lions improved to 6-11 and 3-5 in the Heartland Conference.

Here's a a familar scene of Bluffton in a not-so-familiar time frame. It's the town hall clock tower photographed at late night from The Black Lab at the corner of Main and Vine. Bluffton University first-year student Venessa Owsley took the photo. She is in a photojournalism class at Bluffton. The assignment was to take a photo of your hometown.
