Ohioans to Stop Executions (OTSE) brings their “Voices of Experience” forum to Bluffton to discuss the reform recommendations issued by the Ohio Supreme Court’s Joint Task Force to Review the Administration of Ohio’s Death Penalty.
The Bluffton forum will take place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, at First Mennonite Church of Bluffton.

Bluffton Community Pre-School students met members of the Bluffton Volunteer Fire Department earlier this week. The Fire Prevention Week program enabled students to learn about the jobs of the fire fighters. Seniors Matthew McCoy of Archbold, and Gabrielle De La Cruz of Wauseon, were crowned Bluffton University’s Homecoming king and queen at halftime of the annual Homecoming football game on Oct. 4.
Other seniors in the Homecoming court were David Henderson of Lima; Trustworthy Ndlovu of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe; Jeremy Amstutz of White Pigeon, Mich.; and Megan Bontrager of Goshen, Ind.
Robert L. Weyer, 86, died at 8:05 p.m. Oct. 7, 2014, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.
He was born May 11, 1928, in Vaughnsville to the late Lewis and Bessie (Briggs) Weyer. On April 22, 1950, he married Catherine Bowsher Weyer and she survives.
He had worked as a carpenter at Reichenbach Lumber, Bluffton, Triplett Corp., Bluffton, American Electric Power, for the AC & Y Railroad and Fett Hardware.
