The Western Ohio Chapter of the Lincoln Highway Association will meet at 6 p.m., Tuesday, July 15, at the Forest/Jackson Public Library (the train depot) located at 102 W. Lima St., Forest.

Those attending will have a home-cooked Amish dinner at 6 p.m., followed by a presentation at 7 p.m. Karen Moore will talk about “The History of Forest, Ohio, on the Lincoln Highway.”

The dinner includes salad, chicken/roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetables, bread, pie and a drink. The cost is $15 per person. Call 419-203-5779 for a reservation.

BFR Sports & Fitness is proud to be a United Way Agency. BFR started as a grass-roots organization striving to keep our community active. Through the support of United Way, individuals and families with limited finances can take part in BFR programs.

Ralph Carmichael, 90, died on Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Shady Lawn Retirement Community in Dalton, Ohio.

Ralph was born in Hull, England, on May 1, 1924, to Gladys and Harry Carmichael. During WWII, he served in the 2nd. Battalion of the West Yorkshire Regiment of the British Army in India. His regiment fought in the Battle of Imphal in Northern India with the 14th. Army. He also served in Penang, Malaya, before returning to England after the war with the rank of Sergeant.

One of today’s most well-known Christian bands, Unspoken, performs  in concert at Pandora Missionary Church Sunday, Sept. 21,  at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door. VIP passes for a meet and greet with the band, photos, autographs, and refreshments are an additional $5.

With two straight Top-5 singles (“Who You Are” and “Lift My Life Up”) and successful tours with bands like Sanctus Real and Big Daddy Weave, Unspoken is one of the hottest Christian bands on the scene today.
