The next Maple Crest Senior Living, 700 Maple Court, Bluffton, Sunday buffet is March 16, according to Daren Lee, director of Maple Crest.
The menu includes:
• Corned beef and cabbage with carrots and potatoes
• Herbed pork roast
• Sweet potato casserole
• Sauteed fresh squash and zucchini
• Dinner rolls
• Cherry pie
• Coffee and iced tea.
The buffet is in the Patio Room at Maple Crest from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is open to all adults 55 and older at a cost of $7.50 per person.

 Bluffton University sophomore Brooke Ruffer (Stryker) was recently named First Team All-Heartland Conference for the 2013-14 women's basketball season. The HCAC women's basketball coaches selected six players for the first team and six players for the second team. Rachel Beining (Ottoville) was one of five ladies selected to the All-Freshman Team.

In addition to its regular menu, Mustard Seed Café, 562 N. Main St. Bluffton, offers weekend features from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, March 8 and 9.

Something about March brings out excuses to eat out. Consider:

• On Thursday Maple Crest held its winter soup cook off (if you missed it, you lose, it was a great event).

• The Bluffton High School Junior Class will hold a pancake/sausage breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m., Saturday, March 8, at the Bluffton McDonald's.

The meal includes:
• All you can eat pancakes
• Sausage patty
• Small drink

Bluffton High School art student Nicole Edelbrock won first place in printmaking at this year's 26th annual Kewpee High School Art Invitational currently on exhibit at ArtSpace/Lima, according to Vicki Garmon, BHS art teacher.

Edelbrock's print is titled "Andy's Print." Eight Bluffton students have works in the juried show. In addition to Edelbrock, those students are:

Peyton Gallant, Bluffton fourth grader, performs on the recorder in Alice Basinger's elementary music class. Payton is a student in Mrs. McCauley's classroom. The fourth graders are preparing to perform their recorders during the Bluffton Music Boosters chicken barbecue at the end of March.
