The nationwide food drive is the largest one day food collection in the country filling food pantries and food banks. It is easy to help and participate. Just collect and bag non perishable food items or paper products and or toiletries and place by your mailbox (early Saturday morning) or bring them to the Bluffton Post Office.
Bluffton’s annual family-oriented spring arts and crafts show is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, May 11, in downtown Bluffton. The 42nd annual show is sponsored by the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce.
Over 70 vendors are already registered for this year's show, which is a larger number than last year, according to Jerry Burkholder, show director.
The cost of a booth is $60 and a registration form is in an attachment and the bottom of this story. A few craft spots are still available, but are going fast.
Time is running out - but if you hurry you can still sponsor a downtown flowerpot.
According to Susie and Steve Stratton of Stratton Greenhouses, "This will be the seventh year for providing the potted plants on Main Street. We appreciate providing this service to the community and are grateful for all the sponsors and contributors. We have received countless comments about how the plants make the downtown more attractive.
Three Bluffton University accounting students have won a scholarship that will enable them to study for and take the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) exam at no cost.
Receiving the CMA Scholarship recently from the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) were seniors John Oyer of Hesston, Kan., and Brandi Dominique of Wauseon, Ohio, along with junior Jonathan Fowler of Cincinnati. All three students are majoring in accounting and business administration.
The Bluffton University track and field program ended their season this weekend at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field championships held on the campus of Manchester University.
The Beavers finished the day in 7th place on the women’s side with only 10 women and 8th place on the men’s side with 17 men competing. The Beavers also set two new school records on the day.
The Girl Scouts of Western Ohio will offer a six-week flower garden program for girls in kindergarten through grade 5 this summer at the Bluffton Public Library, 145 S. Main St., according to Anna Wildermuth of the Girl Scouts.
The program dates are June 13, 20, 27 and July 11, 18 and 25. Each program takes place from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
