Elizabeth Ann Burner, 79, died at 7:42 am April 24, 2013, at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora. Arrangements are incomplete at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.
Margaret “Peg” J. Dukes, 79, of Pandora, died in her home on April 23, 2013. She was born June 25, 1933, in Findlay, Ohio, to the late Daniel and Edna (Boalo) Fox. She married Richard D. Dukes on Nov. 21, 1954, who survives in Pandora.
She was a homemaker and a life-long member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for over 20 years.
Survivors include a son Richard L. (Donna) Dukes; daughters Beth (John) Lee, Dana Dukes-Norton (Brian), all of Pandora; and Judy Dukes, of Leipsic.
Joan L. Bemiller, 72, died at her home in Bluffton,on Monday, April 22, 2013. She had lived in Mansfield for over 47 years and recently moved to Bluffton.
Bluffton council tabled the third reading of the ordinance on Monday evening.
In moving to table it, Dave Steiner said, “There is activity in the state house regarding how sidewalks can be financed. We need to work it into the ordinance.”
Council passed the first reading of an 11-page ordinance regulating bed and breakfasts in the village. This ordinance is in place for an anticipated bed and breakfast to be requested on South Main Street.
Donald Isaac Jr. has a radio show syndicated on 17 stations and affiliated websites worldwide — and he’s still in college.
The Bluffton University junior’s work on his show, “The Chillout Sessions,” and as program director at campus radio station WBWH, helped earn him the Antelle Haithcock Humanitarian Scholarship at the recent Community Enrichment Dinner in Lima.
The Walter C. Potts Entrepreneur Center awards the $500 scholarship, which goes to a local student pursuing a career in broadcasting, journalism or music.
