Maple Crest hosted a concert featuring three of its talented musician-residents on March 15. Larry Burkhalter, playing the violin, was accompanied by pianists Joanne Niswander and Jean Szabo. Burkholder's daughter, Karol Crosbie, served as the Emcee for the evening.
Burkholder, a university music professor, symphony conductor and long-recognized violinist, was pleased to discover that Niswander and Szabo, also experienced musicians, were willing to work with him on several complex pieces.
Mustard Seed Café, 560 N. Main St., Bluffton, is accepting reservations for Easter Sunday. Dinner is served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Jessica Brockert, a Bluffton High School senior, is the February BHS student of the month.
Jessica carries a 4.000 grade point average, is in Math Club, Latin Club and Art Club. She is a member of S.A.D.D. (Students Against Drunk Driving) and is in the cast of the BHS musical "Alice In Wonderland." She is also a member of Youth for Christ.
Jessica received the OSU-Honda Math Medal, and is taking Calculus 2 at Bluffton University as a post-secondary option. She anticipates attending Ohio State University to study psychology and hopes to eventually become an EMT.
The Bluffton Exempted Village School District is currently accepting applications from students interested in attending the school district through open enrollment for the 2013 –2014 school year.
Students from any school district in Ohio may apply and enroll in Bluffton Schools tuition free. Students are admitted on a full-time basis only.
Applications are approved annually on a first come, first served basis and approval is subject to grade level enrollment and educational programs.
Ward F. Guinther, 57 died at 1:42 p.m. March 26, 2013. at his residence surrounded by his family following a seven month battle with cancer. He was born April 15, 1955, in Sturgis, Michigan, to the late Jack and Betty (Gill) Guinther. On May 13, 1999 he married Charity L. Michel who survives.
Mr. Guinther was an over the road truck driver most recently for Woods Brothers Trucking. Ward was an U.S. Army veteran.
