Lots of events are planned in Allen County in February. Here's a list from the Allen County Convention and Visitors' Bureau:

Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio is accepting applications for the Barbara Fleming Memorial Nursing Scholarship. The scholarship is meant to promote the career of nursing. 

Therefore the scholarship money may be used toward a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse, a degree as a Registered Nurse, or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  The scholarship is to be used to pay school-related expenses toward any of these degrees.

Common Grounds 101 S. Main St., Bluffton, makes its own homemade chocolate and caramel sauce, plus several additional syrup flavors.

You may add these homemade sauces and syrup flavors to any of your drinks.

Audrey Marshall, a Bluffton High School junior and daughter of  Bruce and Amy Marshall of Bluffton, is the January student of the month at BHS.

She carries a 3.622 grade point average and participates in Art Club, Latin Club, Yearbook, Band, Show choir, Jazz Band, Pep Band, Student Senate, Ocean Focus, and summer swim team.

She is a member of the cross country team and  NSHSS (National Society of HIgh School Scholars). She hopes to pursue biology or studies of science

The folliwing is a list of babies born at Bluffton Hospital recently.

Jan. 8 - Zane Scott Zizelman, son of Lindsay and Dustin Zizelman, 7 pounds,  20 inches long.

Jan. 9 - Londyn Fay Brecheisan, daughter of Brandy and Stephen Brecheisen, 8 pounds, 20 and a half inches long.

Jan. 11 - Jonathan Douglas Herrmann, son of Kayla and Doug Herrmann, 8 pounds and 12 ounces, 21 inches long.

Jan. 15 - Margaret Marie Niese, daughter of Lori and Andy Niese, seven pounds 5 ounces, 20 inches long.

Jaegar Crawfis, 2, can't get enough of the parachute at BFR. It was part of a young children's play activity at BFR Sports and Fitness Center on Feb. 1. Watch the video.
