Brian Goldsberry is one of three persons to be inducted into the Apollo Career Center Hall of Fame on Thursday, Feb. 7.

The induction takes place during the annual all-area board meeting. The program, which starts at 6 p.m., also includes the induction of the 2013 Charles M. Hankish Citizen and Student Citizen of the Year.

The Blanchard Valley Hospital Auxiliary’s Nearly New Shop is accepting donations for their annual prom dress distribution. Items accepted include gently used dresses, shoes and accessories.

The items can be dropped off at the Nearly New Shop, 306 Lima Avenue through March 12.

After March 13, the dresses, shoes and accessories will be available free of charge to any area teen needing items for prom. One dress per girl will be provided. Dresses will be available through prom season.

The Bluffton University men's and women's track and field teams traveled to the campus of Ohio Northern this weekend to compete in the Joe Banks Invitational. Among the competing teams were conference opponents Defiance and the Rose Hulman Institute of Technology.

With the Heartland Conference championships just two weeks away, the Beavers are continuing to improve throughout the season with an abundance of personal bests.

In this article by Huffington Post blogger Eleanor Goldberg, she gives some staggering statistics about human sex trafficking during the Super Bowl.

My question is this: Who are the men who are doing the raping? If there were 10,000 women hired to be raped in 2010 and one 12 year old was forced to be raped 20-50 times in one night, that's a lot of men paying (or not) to commit rape.

The cream of mushroom soup from Jeanne's Kitchen was voted the winner of Maple Crest's Feb. 1 soup cook-off. 

Soups from seven area restaurants were sampled by over 200 soup lovers during the event. Persons attending voted for their favorite soup.

Luke’s Bar & Grill of Bluffton with baked potato and bacon was voted second place.  Logan’s Seafood Chowder from Logan’s Irish Pub of Findlay took third place.  

Others who participated were Mustard Seed Café of Bluffton, Waldo Pepper’s of Findlay, J’s Diner of Lima and PamCakes of Columbus Grove.
