Cleveland artist and musician Craig Matis will present “Autism: A Mexican Adventure,” a mixed-media exhibition opening Monday, Nov. 5, in the Grace Albrecht Gallery of Bluffton University’s Sauder Visual Arts Center.

With the exception of Nov. 20-25, when the gallery will be closed for Bluffton’s Thanksgiving break, the exhibit is free and open to the public through Dec. 7. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 1-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

 

Jeff Gundy, professor of English at Bluffton University, will devote a campus colloquium on Friday, Nov. 2, to three book projects aided by the Naomi E. Lehman Faculty Scholarship Grant he received last year. Free and open to the public, his presentation will begin at 4 p.m. in Stutzman Lecture Hall in Centennial Hall.

 

Bluffton University’s Jazz Ensemble and Gospel Choir will share the Yoder Recital Hall stage for a 6 p.m. concert on Saturday, Nov. 3. Admission is free; an offering will be taken during intermission for music scholarships.

Paul Baransy, an adjunct instructor at Bluffton, conducts the Jazz Ensemble, which will perform seven pieces.

Patrons of the Bluffton Public Library are reminded that every cent helps. A Buck$ for Book$ donation can is at the checkout desk of the library. State library funding cuts exceed $75,000 per year.

I worked in a salon and babysat.

The Mennonite Memorial Home Service Group will hold its Thanksgiving bake sale. The sale is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 16, at MMH, 410 W. Elm St., Bluffton.

The selection includes homemade cinnamon rolls, bread, pies, cookies and desserts, all in time for Thanksgiving holiday needs.
