The U14/15 Bluffton Pirates soccer team completed their regular season with a perfect 10-0 record.  The Pirates scored 65 goals and only allowed 4. The team competed in the Northwest Ohio Youth Soccer League (NWOYSL) against teams from Bryan, Napoleon, Defiance, Liberty Center, Wauseon, Maumee and Toledo.

The Frontotemporal Dementia Support Group meets the second Monday of every month 6:30- 8 p.m. at St. Andrew United Methodist Church at 120 West Sandusky Street in Findlay. For more information contact Linda Pollitz at 419 227-9700 or Tracy Steele at 419 889-3448.

The caregiver group is through the Alzheimer's Association.

Noah Stratton, Bluffton High School junior, is the September student of the month at BHS. He is the son of Dave and Julie Stratton, 554 S. Main St., Blufffton, and carries a 4.0 grade point average.

He is a member of Latin Club, Show Choir, Leadership Team and Drama Team for his church, Campus Life, National Honor Society and Renaissance Committee. He participates in football, basketball and track. He has competed in the state track meet as a freshman and sophomore. 

This could be you - in a manner of speaking. One of the art works to be auctioned at BCE's Oct. 27 art auction includes a special piece by Bluffton artist Beverly Amstutz. The high bidder of this piece has the opportunity to have Amstutz draw any of the winner's family members (or the winner) in any historic-era costume. This drawing is an example of how the finished piece might appear. Auction details are in the story below.

Once a year area residents have an opportunity to purchase art created by local artists - thanks to the Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs. This year's opportunity is Saturday, Oct. 27.

The event is the BCE's annual dinner and art auction fundraiser. Tickets are now on sale at $50 each or $300 for a table of eight persons.

Bluffton native James Franklin Miller, Sr. died Oct. 14, 2012 at age 93 at his home in Mission, Texas.

He was born on Nov. 20, 1918 in Bluffton, Ohio, to Charles and Bertha Miller. The youngest of five children, he was their only boy. Jim graduated from high school and entered Bluffton College at age 16.
