Cheri M. "Dixie Rose" Warren, 56, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012 at 4:23 p.m. at her residence in Kenton, Ohio.

She was born on Oct. 11, 1956 in Kenton, Ohio to Carl D. and F. Jeanne (Vermillion) Hepner who preceded her in death. She first married Keith O. Steele and they were divorced, he survives in Kenton, Ohio. She later married John A. Warren and he survives in Kenton, Ohio.

Cheri worked in sales at Harley-Davidson Motor Company, Lima. However she was best known for being a radio personality at T-102 of Lima, Ohio.

Bluffton University will host the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Oct. 27, at the university’s nature preserve.

If you haven’t already done so, mark Saturday, Nov. 24, on your calendar. It’s the 26th annual Bluffton Blaze of Lights.

Here’s an update on the event:
4 p.m. Ice sculpturer downtown
4 p.m. Parade line up on Snider Road
5 p.m. Parade
5:55 p.m. Reading of the Christmas story by John George
6 p.m. Lighting of the Ream Holiday Folk Art Display
     (Note: this is one hour earlier than previous years)
6:15 p.m. Bluffton High School Show Choir performs

Anna Crisp reigned as the 2012 Bluffton High School homecoming queen. Matthew Deter was named king. Although rain dampened much of Friday, forcing the tops down on the court convertibles during the parade, the spirit of the event was festive.

After the rains stopped The Icon caught up with the BHS homecoming court. Anna Crisp is the 2012 queen and Matt Deter is the king.
