Ohio Northern University’s Phi Beta Delta honor society for international scholars presents “Kossuth’s Message” in the Dicke Forum on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
“Kossuth’s Message” is a historical re-enactment of Hungarian statesman Lajos Kossuth’s tour of the United States in 1851-52. Kossuth, the president of revolutionary Hungary in the late 1840s, visited the U.S. seeking support for Hungarian independence from the Habsburg monarchy. His tour included a number of stops in Ohio, including an address to the Ohio legislature.

How old are you and what grade are you in?
I’m 8 and in third grade.
Where were you born?
I was born in Pennsylvania. My mom was born in Africa, but grew up in New Zealand. Dad, he’s
just been living in Bluffton all the time. I was about two years old when we moved to Bluffton. Kate was born nine months later and Mia about one year after Kate.
We realize we've crossed school lines in this story, but there's a good reason why. Bluffton Icon's sister publication, The Ada Icon, caught up with several Ada High School students on Oct. 4. It's Ada's homecoming "spirit week."
Each day of the week has a different dress theme. Turns out on Oct. 4 the theme was dress like a Northwest Conference mascot.
He's part Pirate; but mostly Bulldog. He's Jon Robey, Ada High School student, dressed as a Bluffton Pirate. The occasion was Ada High School's homecoming week Spirit Day on Oct. 4. During the day Ada students could dress like any NWC mascot. Jon decided to be a Pirate. Click for a video. For a further explanation read the Iconclast view at the bottom of the home page.
Two Bluffton residents, Mary Em Triplett and Mary Koontz, will receive life time memberships this month from the Bluffton Senior Citizens Assocation, upon reaching their 90th birthdays.
