Often when you read a stat line and see that the home team outgained its opponent by 110 yards you will see a W for that home team. On this Friday night that was not the case as the Bluffton Pirates capitalized on eight Crestview penalties and three turnovers, which earned Bluffton its second win of the season.
Quarter Back Robbie Stratton opened up Bluffton’s first drive with a 14-yard scoring run to put the Pirates up 7-0.
Adin C. Justus, 85, died at 6 a.m. Sept. 16, 2012, at the Gables in Marysville, Ohio. He was born June 19, 1927 in Galina, Ohio to Adin E. and Jessie Freshwater Justus. On March 14, 1953 he married Marilyn McDonald and she died Feb. 6, 2004.
Adin retired from Sheller-Globe. He was a member of Lima Baptist Temple. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Robert M. “Bob” Barkimer, 89, died at 1:48 p.m. at his daughter’s residence on Sunday Sept. 16, 2012. He was born Nov. 13, 1922 in Columbus Grove to Clarence and Myrtle (Featheringill) Barkimer. On June 19, 1943 he married Mary Ellen Burkholder and she died Aug. 15, 2002.

Two groups of Bluffton University students will relate their cross-cultural experiences from last spring during campus forums at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Sept. 25 in Founders Hall. The presentations are free and open to the public.
Recounting their experiences at the 11 a.m. session will be Estee Arend and Kyle Niermann, who were among a Bluffton contingent that went to Chicago; Rachel Dotson and Melissa Hostetler, discussing Guatemala; Jared Hudson, Brianna Shaw and Leah Waltermyer, Israel/Palestine; and Jared Horstman and Marla Stone, Kentucky.
The results of a grant-funded fishing project at the Bluffton University Nature Preserve will be Tami Forbes’ topic for “The One That Got Away,” a Bluffton colloquium on Friday, Sept. 21.
Free and open to the public, the presentation by the associate professor of recreation will begin at 4 p.m. in Stutzman Lecture Hall in Bluffton’s Centennial Hall.
