-An E. Elm St. resident reported unauthorized charges on her credit card. August 3
-Officers responded to a complaint of Domestic Violence at a W. Riley St. residence. August 4
-A N. Main St. business reported having harassment issues with a former employee. August 6
-A S. Main St. business reported unknown persons were filing false claims about the business.
Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO), Bluffton, will hold a “A Home Blessing; Celebrating Life” ceremony to commemorate the grand opening of its new campus, Willow Ridge. The event is at 1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 14, at Willow Ridge, directly across from Maple Crest on Augsburger Road, Bluffton. The event is open to the public.
Drive Time Driving Instructions next regularly scheduled class begins Oct. 7. An accelerated class is held from Oct. 28 to Nov. 3, according to Doug Kisseberth of the driving instruction firm.
John Christopher Sylak and Emily Jane Glassman will be married at 3 p.m.,Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at the San Francisco Theological Seminary in San Anselmo, Calif. The wedding will be officiated by the couple's close friend, Johannah Murphy. The couple will honeymoon in Maui.
John is the son of Philip and Lois Sylak of Bluffton, and a 2004 graduate of Bluffon High School. Emily is the daughter of Steven and Miriam Glassman of Framingham, Mass., and a 2005 graduate of the Cambridge School of Weston.
The community is invited to join the people of English Lutheran Church for Rally Sunday and an ice cream social on Sunday, Sept. 16, according to Rev. Kevin Mohr, pastor.
The theme for this year's event is S.H.I.N.E.!
"First, we will gather for worship of Jesus as the Light of the World. During the worship service three young members of the congregation will receive their 3rd grade gift Bibles," he said.
