The Arts Advocacy Luncheon Planning Committee announces its first Arts Appreciation Day to honor one individual in each of the three Arts areas:  Creator, Advocate and Philanthropist. 

The Committee includes representatives from The Lima Symphony Orchestra, Northwest Ohio Film Foundation, Allen County Board of DD, Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center, Council for the Arts, Lima City Schools Arts, ArtSpace and Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center. 

BFR still has four spots open for its adult coed volleyball league that runs from Sept. 24-Oct. 25 on Monday or Thursday nights at 7, 8, or 9 p.m.  Registrations are due Sept. 14.

Seasonal Flu Vaccine Available to Community
Allen County Public Health announces its community seasonal flu shot clinic schedule for everyone – 6 months of age and older. 

The vaccine will be available beginning Monday, Sept. 10, at  Allen County Public Health:

• Mondays - Wednesdays – Fridays: 8-9 a.m. and 3-4 a.m. or by appointment. Appointments can be made by visiting our website or by phone.

In addition, off-site clinics will be held on:
• Thursday, Sept. 27, from 9-11 a.m.  at Bluffton Senior Citizens Center

The Pandora United Methodist Church will host a free community meal on Wednesday, Sept. 26, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington St., Pandora.  The meal this month is provided by the Rebecca Circle  and is ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, dessert and beverage.

The churches of Pandora and Gilboa are offering food boxes for households in the Pandora-Gilboa School District. The boxes are designed to provide nine meals for a family of four.

In order to pick up a box, persons must register by 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 24, by calling 419-384-3905.

Boxes will be available for pickup on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 11 a.m. at the Pandora United Methodist Church located on State Route 12.
