There's no Main Street in small-town America like Bluffton's. Thanks to hundreds and hundreds of blooming petunias, courtsey Stratton's Greenhouses, Bluffton's Main Street resembles a flower garden.
A beautiful summer evening set the tone for Mennonite Memorial Home’s annual “Concert on the Lawn” on Aug. 19. This year’s concert featured Pantasia, a steel drum from Findlay High School.
Residents, family members and community members gathered to enjoy the Caribbean sounds brought by Pantasia. Kids, both young and old, tapped their toes and danced to the upbeat rhythms.

Unofficial 2012 State Report Card scores indicate that the Bluffton school district performance index rating should be the highest ever received by the school.
That report is part of the summer district newsletter released to The Icon.
According to Greg Denecker, Bluffton superintendent, Bluffton's performance index rating should be 107.4. This rating should place Bluffton in the top 3 to 5 percent of all districts in Ohio.
If the amen of nature is always a flower, then this garden is an amen with an explanation point.
It's one of those flower beds you wish you could transplant in your own yard. Linda Suter, 122 Grove St., says it's all Bob's. "He did it," she said.
The short version is that Bob went to Stratton's Greenhouse, came home with annuals recommended by Susie Stratton, dug a trench, put it good soil (no clay soil here), and the rest is history.
It's this simple: you must stop and view the flowers at 122 Grove St. The front fence garden is a Bob Suter creation and The Icon names it the best arrangement of annuals in Bluffton this summer.
