Saturday, April 7th was a day of speed and strength as the Bluffton men's and women's track and field team took advantage of the warm weather and still breeze. Competing at the Marv Frye Invitational, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University, the track and field team set a combined 27 personal records.
Standing out for Bluffton were three freshmen, Jenna Strauss (Bridgeport), Eric Dameron (Galion), and Rob Cook (Convoy/Crestview), as they each had three personal bests for the day.
The Concert Choir of Michigan Lutheran Seminary, Saginaw, Michigan, will present a concert of sacred songs at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jenera, on Sunday, April 15, at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
The 25 voice traveling singers, under the direction of Professor Leonard A. Proeber, have toured annually since 1955, with appearances in more than 30 states, Canada and Europe. This choir, which will sing over 20 concerts during the 2011-2012 season, regularly visits congregations of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod in Michigan and adjoining states.
The Friends of the Bluffton Public Library host a Spring Tea at 5:45 p.m., Thursday, April 12, in the Richland Room of the library.
Tickets can be purchased in the library for $12. Only a few remain for sale.
After a light meal, a program titled the Victorian Secret: The Secret Behind the Bustle will be presented. The role of women changed during the reign of Queen Victoria and as the role changed, so did the fashions.
