Blanchard Valley Regional Cancer Center (BVRCC) will conduct a prostate cancer screening Thursday, Sept. 16, from 2 to 5 p.m. at BVRCC, 15990 Medical Drive South, Findlay.
All men age 50 and older, or those over 45 years of age with high risk factors for prostate cancer, are welcome to attend.
Risk factors include being African American or having a first-degree relative diagnosed with prostate cancer before age 65.
This screening is offered by appointment only and is limited to the first 150 men to sign up.

It has been a very busy summer for permanent improvement projects in our district. In each summer's district newsletter and in The Bluffton Icon, we outline the revenue that was brought in from this 1/2% permanent improvement income tax and the projects (along with the cost of each project) completed with these tax dollars.

The Inn at Ohio Northern University offers Thursday Tea at the Inn every Thursday afternoon from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Inn. The garden courtyard is open for seating (weather permitting).

The first senior citizen breakfast of the 2010-11 school year is coming soon. The event is at 8:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 9, in the Bluffton Middle School cafetorium, according to Greg Denecker, Bluffton superintendent.
The Bluffton High School marching band will perform during the breakfast, which is free and open to senior citizens of the school district. The monthly breakfasts are held on the second Thursday of each month.
