Lima Locomotive Works talk part of Allen County Historical Society's annual meeting Jan. 27
Scott Trostel, nationally noted railroad historian, will present at program on the Lima Locomotive Works at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 27, at the Allen County Museum, Lima. The presentation takes place at the museum at 620 W. Market St., Lima.
His presentation will follow the Allen County Historical Society’s 105th annual membership meeting, according to Dick Boehr of Bluffton, who is a board member of the museum.
Trostel, from near Sidney, will discuss the buildings and departments inside of the Lima Locomotive Works. His program follows locomotive construction techniques from design through drafting, pattern making, foundry practice, metal forming and machining, culminating with component assembly.
He will use many of the Lima Locomotive Works construction photos on file at the museum during his talk.
Trostel has worked with the Historical Society since 1967. He restored the Lima Railway Streetcar cab in the Phase 2 expansion of the museum.
His program is free and open to the public.
