Marvin "Bud" Miller was a lifelong farmer
Marvin M. "Bud" Miller, 85, died at 5:48 p.m. Feb. 27, 2013, at Lima Memorial Health Systems. He was born on Aug. 25, 1927, in Lima, to Winson J. and Bernice L. Ackerman Miller, who have preceded him in death. On Nov. 4, 1951, he married Bernita L. Winget, who survives in Bluffton.
Mr. Miller served in the United States Army from 1945-47. He was a lifelong farmer, who also retired in 1983 from the Allen County Engineer's Office. He was a member of the Bluffton First United Methodist Church and the Farm Bureau. .
Survivors also include two sons, Steven and Ann Miller, of Lima and Paul and Robin Miller, of Bluffton; four grandchildren, Bryant and Kim Miller, of Bluffton, Keri Ann and Kyle Wiechart, of Lima, Jenna and Patrick Bailey, of Indianapolis, Ind., and David and Lindsay Miller, of Red Bank, N.J.; three great-grandchildren, Kallie Wiechart, Max Miller, and Mikah Miller; two brothers, Max and Patricia Miller, of Covington, and Jerry and Aunalee Miller of Elberta, Ala.; and a sister, LaDene Mayberry, of Mich.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, James Miller; and a brother, Wayne Miller.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, March 4 at the Bluffton First United Methodist Church. Pastor Bryant Miller and Jerry Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in Thompson Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 3, at Chiles - Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Bluffton Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bluffton First United Methodist Church. Condolences may be expressed at www.chiles-lamanfh.com
