Holy Week services at English Lutheran Church announced

"The people of English Lutheran Church invite you to join us "on the way" to the surprise of Easter as we gather for our Holy Week services," said Rev. Kevin Mohr, pastor.

He continues: "The journey begins this weekend with our Palm Sunday celebration at 9 a.m., which will include a procession with palms and an interactive reading of Luke's narrative of Jesus' passion.

"Then on Maundy Thursday, March 28 at 7 p.m., we "remember on the way" as we commemorate Jesus' Last Supper with his disciples. This service concludes with the ritual stripping of the altar in preparation for the somber nature of Good Friday.

"On Good Friday, March 29,  you are invited to help the community "carry the cross on the way" in procession, beginning from here at English Lutheran at 11:30 a.m., and ending at St. Mary's Catholic Church at twelve noon with the Bluffton Community Good Friday worship.

"But the journey of faith and discovery doesn't end there. Come back and be "surprised on the way" by joining us for our Easter Sunday celebrations on March 31. We begin with our Easter Contemporary Sunrise service at 7:30 a.m.

"At 8:45 a.m. you are invited to join us for a fellowship potluck breakfast in the lower level of our building.  Then, at 10:15 a.m., we gather for our Festival Easter Service, featuring special music by our choir under the direction of David Runk, and instrumentalists including Scott Edwards, Adam Schattschneider, Nancy Fultz, and guest instrumentalists."
