Janet E. Wagner, 1921-2013
Janet Elizabeth Wagner, 92, formerly of Upper Sandusky died Sat March 30, 2013, at her daughter’s home in Bluffton. She was born March 5, 1921, to the late Fred W. and Cleo (Bardon) Moser. She married Austin Wagner on April 7, 1946, and he died June 21, 1991.
Mrs. Wagner is survived by her four daughters, Janice (Robert) Weatherby, Hilliard, Christine (Nathan) McNeal, Kimbolton, Jane (Alan) Shumaker, Upper Sandusky, Joan (Bill) Deter, Bluffton, 6 sons, Robert (Christine) Wagner, Upper Sandusky, John Wagner, Upper Sandusky, Fred (Barbara) Wagner, Pensacola, Fla., Ted Wagner, Upper Sandusky, James ( Rita) Wagner, Upper Sandusky, Phillip (Tracy) Wagner, Nevada, 23 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Moser and Miriam Worth.
She graduated from Upper Sandusky HS in 1939. She attended Tiffin Business School for one year. Mrs. Wagner was a homemaker and helped on the family farm. She had worked for the ASC office in Upper Sandusky. During WWII she worked at Wright Patterson Air Force base as a civilian employee. She also raised chickens and sold eggs.
Mrs. Wagner was a member of Harpster United Methodist Church, actively involved with the United Methodist Women holding various offices and served on the church finance committee. She was a member of Harpster Mothers Club, Wyandot Memorial Hospital Guild, Wyandot County Farm Bureau, and she was a former Salem Grange member.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday April 8, in the Harpster United Methodist Church with Rev. Soohea Park officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
