BFR Keeping Active events winding down
The final days of Keeping Active are underway at BFR Sports & Fitness. The last week will feature more free walking days, a free session of water exercise, informal recreation for adults and families, plus informational demonstrations in the BFR Fitness Center. A full schedule of activities is available at the building, as well as on the web site www.bfronline.com. All of the programs will be held at the BFR facility located at 215 Snider Road, Bluffton.
Exercise-related programs will include free admission to the morning session of YogaFit© on Fri., Feb. 21, 8:30 a.m. and Water Exercise I on Wed. Feb. 26, 9:30AM. These classes will be offered without charge on noted days but the classes will continue to meet weekly. New participants may try a class for free on any class date.
Free access to the BFR indoor track will be offered on Sunday, Feb. 23, 1-5 p.m., Monday, Feb. 24, 5:30 a.m.-9 p.m., and Thurs. Feb. 27, 5:30 a.m.-9 p.m.. BFR does offer walking pass options for individuals who are looking for unlimited use of the indoor track during the winter months.
Drop-in recreational opportunities also continue in the final days of Keeping Active. Youth (grades K-6) are invited to a free session of Dodgeball on Friday, Feb. 21 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Families are invited to use the gymnasium for recreation on Sat. Feb. 22 from 7-9 p.m. No particular events are planned that night; the space will be open for basketball and informal play. Friday, Feb. 28 will offer a free session of the noontime basketball for adults over 18 years of age (12-1P.M.) and Family Dodgeball Night is planned from 6-8 p.m. on that night, as well. Individuals and families who enjoy the recreational aspects of BFR may choose to purchase a recreation pass and continue the drop-in use.
Area adults and high school students who are interested in learning more about strength training and cardiovascular options in the BFR Fitness Center are invited to two informational sessions. Introduction to the Fitness Center will be a small-group tour and demonstration of all the equipment available for use. This session is planned for 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 24; the information is applicable to individuals of all fitness levels. On Wed. Feb. 26, individuals can learn how to use the Cable Cross-over unit. All fitness levels can use this piece of strength-training equipment for upper body and lower body exercises. More information about BFR fitness membership options will be available, too.
