Talk to have phonics focus in Stutzman Lecture Hall
Dr. Amy Mullins, an assistant professor of education at Bluffton University, will focus on phonics in a Bluffton University colloquium at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 14, in Centennial Hall’s Stutzman Lecture Hall. Her talk is free and open to the public.
Mullins will provide an analysis of the Phonics Dance—a program designed to assist students in learning letter sounds and letter patterns—and compare it with a popular basal phonics program. She will also share the findings of research she conducted to compare the growth of students who were taught phonics with the Phonics Dance versus that of students who were taught with basal phonics.
