Kathryn VanScoder Fruchey, 92, was a Pandora High School graduate
Kathryn E. VanScoder Fruchey, 92, of Pandora and formerly of Tampa, Fla., died at 11:40 a.m., March 3, 2014, at the Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora.
She was born September 9, 1921 in Ottawa to Harry and Caroline Schumacher VanScoder. On July 25, 1941, she married Samuel E. Fruchey and he preceded her in death on April 5, 1984.
A graduate of Pandora High School, Kathryn was a homemaker who enjoyed working with ceramics. She also enjoyed fishing and bowling.
Survivors include a son, Ronald (Linda) Fruchey of Spring Hill, Fla., six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a brother, Harold “Skeet” VanScoder of Pandora, and three sisters, Helen Balister of Pandora, Norma Jean Anspach of Delphos and Ilo (Don) Martin of Pandora. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Saundra Traina.
Graveside services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 15 at Garden of Memories, Tampa, Fla. Memorial contributions may be made to Florida Cancer Specialists at www.flcancer.com. Local arrangements by Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Bluffton.
