Earlham women down Beavers 1-0 at Bluffton

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton women’s soccer team suffered a tough loss to the Earlham College Quakers on Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Sears Complex. The Quakers converted a free kick midway through the first half and made it stand up as they went home with a 1-0 victory over the Beavers. It marked the first Heartland Conference win for the visitors, making them 1-2 while the Beavers are now 0-2-1 in the conference and 3-8-1 overall.
The Quakers goal came in the middle of the first half, as Micaela Bush fired her second tally of the season into the back of the net in the 24th minute to give the Quakers the 1-0 lead which was all it took to earn the win.
Earlham outshot Bluffton 9-5 in the victory. The Quakers were called for offsides eight times on the contest, but the Beavers were whistled for nine more fouls (14-5). Bluffton keeper Katie Neeley (Huber Heights/Wayne) posted four saves in a losing effort. Freshman Brittany Huff (Union/Northmont) led the home offense with three shots
The Beavers return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 14 as they are back home to take on the Manchester University Spartans! Match time is set for 3:30 p.m. at the Sears Complex on the campus of Bluffton University. Come support your Beavers!
