Bluffton is Bicycle Capital of Ohio on June 21 - lots of volunteers are needed to make it happen
The largest single-day event in Bluffton this summer is Sunday, June 21.
That's the day when Bluffton becomes the Bicycle Capital of Ohio. The community will be visited by 2,500+ bikers and families on this year's Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure tour (GOBA).
There's a need and lots of room for volunteers to pitch in on that day. There's also an opportunity for groups to do some serious fundraising.
An attachment to this story includes a brief booklet that the chamber created to explain, as briefly as possible, what GOBA's visit means to Bluffton and how you might become involved.
Several area required volunteers to step in to assist in specific duties during GOBA’s visit.
There are opportunities for persons of all ages to participate.
These areas include:
• Campground logistics
• Transportation (shuttle bus service)
• Food
• Entertainment
• Information booth
Two areas where chairpersons are now in place include:
• Emergency planning
• Housing
While in Bluffton bikers will camp at Bluffton University. On Monday morning, June 22, they will depart for Defiance.
