Memorial service for Orletta Templin at First Mennonite May 30
Orletta M. Templin, 92, of Bluffton died May 13, 2015, at 10:50 a.m. at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. She was born Dec. 16, 1922, in Hillsboro, Kansas, to the late Edward and Frieda Kessler Warkentin. On June 4, 1947, she married Lawrence Templin and he survives.
She graduated from Lehigh High School, Lehigh, Kansas, and Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas. She was a teacher at Goessel High School, Goessel, Kansas, and retired from the library at Bluffton College.
She was a member of First Mennonite Church, Bluffton, where she was a Sunday school teacher, in the choir, on various committees and a member of the Travel Class, Bluffton.
Survivors also include three children, Sara (Baldemar) Velasquez, of Toledo, John Templin of Bluffton, Mary (Douglas Swiatecki) of Holland, Ohio, four grandchildren, Satya (Jon) Curry, Christiana (Aaron) Wagner, Aron (Jennifer) Velasquez, Elizabeth (Frank) Julian, nine great grandchildren and a sister, Lois (Charles) Lehrman of Buhl, Idaho.
A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 30, at First Mennonite Church, Bluffton. Rev. Steven J. Yoder will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Heifer International or Mennonite Central Committee.
