Vera Brien was retired from Lugibihl Auto and Truck Sales,
Vera L. Brien, 89 of Bluffton died at 4:25 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at the Bluffton Mennonite Memorial Home.
She was born in Columbus, Feb. 25, 1926, to the late James H. and Cleo (Graves) Dyer. On July 18, 1945, she married Lester Brien and he survives.
She is also survived by three children: Linda (John) Harbison of Bluffton; James Michael (Brenda) Brien of Woodville; and Timothy Arden (friend, Paula Wray) Brien of Rock Island, Ill.; grandchildren, Jill (Mike) Wolverton of Scottsdale, Ariz.; Perry (fiancée, Lora Harrison) Harbison of Pemberville; Donovan Brien of Woodville; Ben (Dawn) Brien of Woodville; Taylor Ann Brien and Bryce Brien of Bettendorf, Iowa. Three great-grandchildren, Justin (Kayla) Harbison of Dayton; Kaylee Harbison of Findlay and Marissa Breier of Woodville, along with a sister, Janet Dyer of Kenton also survive her.
A brother, James Dyer and a sister, Nina Schmidt, also preceded her in death.
She was a 1943 graduate of Kenton High School. Vera had worked in sales at Dyer's Market; Kirkland Bootery and Jerrold's Men's Clothing in Kenton and retired from Lugibihl Auto and Truck Sales in Bluffton. She was a member of Flat Branch Church of Christ and a former member of the Pythian Sisters, Morral Chapter.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 30, at Schindewolf-Stout-Crates Funera Home, Kenton with Pastor Tom Kahley officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview McDonald Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 29, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.stoutcrates.com.
