Council will hear from Rec Committee on swimming pool recommendations
Bluffton council will hear a report from its Recreation Committee on recommendations to upgrade the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool. The report is part of the Monday council agenda.
The committee, meeting on July 6, discussed pool resurfacing.
The report summary follows:
At age 21, the pool is due for some serious maintenance work, specifically resurfacing.
As soon as the 2015 pool season concludes the village will collect bids for the project. This includes concrete repairs, striping, rehab on the bottom of the pool and installation of a proper coating system.
Work on the resurfacing is expected for repair by fall 2015.
Concerning the pool deck, work should be underway to continue to maintain and improve slippery surfaces. Work will either take place in the fall or before the 2016 pool season begins.
The report states that a group is interested in organizing and gathering information on what it would take to heat the pool. The pool was originally heated but is currently not heated.
The complete Monday agenda is at the bottom of this story.
