Bluffton's Fall Festival offers lots of events on Saturday
The Bluffton community’s 12th annual Fall Festival, with many family-oriented activities, takes place throughout the community on Saturday, Sept. 26, according to Daren Lee of Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio, who coordinates the festival.
Here’s the schedule:
Maple Crest Senior Living Village, 700 Maple Crest Ct.
• Antique tractor show, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
• Music by 5 Myles High (Jazz), 11 a.m.-11:45 a.m. and 1-1:45 p.m.
• Gallery 323 Artists’ Exhibit (demos & items for sale), 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
• Kiddie tractor pull, registration 12:30-1:00 p.m., pull starts 1:00 p.m.
• Fishing derby (bait & poles provided), 2-3:30 p.m.
• Apple Butter making (demos & for sale) 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
• Food available 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Mennonite Memorial Home, 410 W. Elm St.
• Silent auction from Sept. 21 to noon Sept. 26
• Bake sale, 10:00 a.m.-2 p.m., or until sold out, whichever comes first
• Kid’s activities – straw dig, kiddie train, Lawn Jenga, Cornhole Toss, 10 a.m-4 p.m.
• Food available, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
• Fun photo booth, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
• Horse-drawn carriage rides between MMH and downtown, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
• Outdoor Bingo (no cash prizes), 2:30 p.m.
• Kettle corn for sale, Maple Syrup for sale, soaps & lotions for sale, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
• Live Music: Jerry Szabo Trio, noon-1: 30 p.m., Coverstone, 12:30 – 2:30 pm
Downtown Bluffton
Main Street retail district
- Many businesses will be open, some with sales. A Farmers’ Market with over 25 vendors takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 in the Citizens National Bank (102 S. Main) parking lot.
Swiss Community Historical Society homestead, 8350 Bixel Road
Bluffton Scrap Artists quilt show, farm animal exhibits, straw bale maze and other kid’s games, corn shelling, bread-baking, needle crafts, open-fire meat roasting, popcorn popping, soup cooking, old-time rural crafts, wagon rides, horse plowing, Swiss-German music, historical exhibits and food available.
BFR Sports and Fitness, 215 Snider Road
Third annual Craft and Home Business Expo, over 30 booths of gifts and specialty items are expected. Past Expos have included items such as quilts, handmade furniture, glassware, patchwork animals, crocheted items, Fair-trade jewelry, and floral arrangements, and much more. 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Admission is free.
BFR will host an open house from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. during the festival. Visitors will tour the facility, watch demonstrations of exercise equipment and have an opportunity to purchase memberships at a discount.
Bluffton Hospital, 139 Garau St.
Pony rides, face painting, inflatables for kids, kids “make your own first aid kit”, pumpkin decorating and light refreshments. Transportation provided between downtown, BFR Sports and Fitness and the hospital during the day. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Bluffton Public Library, 145 S. Main St.
Friends of the Library book sale, 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Book sale also open to public from Sept. 23, 5 p.m. to 7:30 pm, Sept. 24, 9:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. and Sept. 25, 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
