Main Street Mexican restaurant will reopen under new ownership
The former Tu Pubelo Mexican Restaurant has a new owner.
Don Jose Mexican Restaurant will reopen in the 142 N. Main St., location in late October, according to Rafael Arciga of Lima, the new owner.
Arciga grew up in California in a family that operated five Mexican restaurants. He said that he is very excited about opening the restaurant in Bluffton. He and his wife, Venecia, will operate it.
“We will offer an authentic Mexican menu,” he said. “We will also be open for breakfasts and we will offer delivery services.”
The restaurant will have the same liquor permit as the previous owner. In addition, Mexican soft drinks will be on the menu.
Don Jose is named after Arciga’s father, who operated the restaurants in California. Arciga said that there are currently openings for servers and dishwashers.
A grand opening will take place later in the year.
